Time to blow off the cobwebs, the popular Crow Road Habble returns once the clocks change this weekend.
We'll meet on Thursday at 6:30pm at Doyles & will leave prompt so there's still light, but advise to bring at least some LED lights with you in case there's heavy skies (I'll probably fit a proper light).
Format as last year, steady roll out through Fintry to the base of the Crow, where all hell is let loose until the layby at the small forest. First rider to the layby at the top turns and comes back down, where everybody else turns AFTER the riders descending without completing the full climb. Then we all regroup at the bottom and the wheelabout starts until the sprint just before the Blackhill crossroads near Boquhan (if you want to sprint). You can do what you like as soon as you see Claylands farm, attack, work with others, hide in the wheels, it's up to you and what you need to do with your training.
You'll all get a really tough 7 to 8 minute flat out workout up the Crow Road, some valuable group skills at speed on the way back & progressive pacing on the way out. It's a good session and everybody will get something out of it as the climb is at your best pace, not anybody elses. It's also very good for checking your progress against others throughout the year.
Colin.

Just 6 out tonight for the first Crow road habble of the year, I think we started this in June last year, so way ahead & it looks like it's going to be a fast & competitive year. Was my 3rd fastest time up there, in cold air with a headwind, so it can only get quicker! We then had a rapid wheelabout from Smithy Corner to Blackhill Crossroads, everybody had a lovely time and felt like they'd had a good workout. See you next week, if you want to get yourselves fit, this is the ride for you. My ride info here... app.strava.com/activities/47243390
